Your cPanel needs Setup Node.js App. Installing takes about five minutes.

  1. Create a database (skip this to use SQLite). In MySQL Databases: create a database, add a user with a strong password, then Add User To Database and tick ALL PRIVILEGES. cPanel adds a prefix to both names, such as youruser_webfaze and youruser_wf. Write the full names down.
  2. Upload the deploy package. In File Manager, create a folder outside public_html, for example /home/youruser/webfaze, upload the zip from webfaze.com Account → Downloads and extract it there. Keeping it outside public_html means your database file and secrets can never be served over the web.
  3. Create the app. Setup Node.js App → Create Application:
  4. Node.js version: 22.15 or higher
  5. Application mode: Production
  6. Application root: webfaze
  7. Application URL: your domain
  8. Application startup file: app.js
  9. Add the variables with Add Variable: DB_HOST (localhost), DB_NAME, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD, then WEBFAZE_DOMAIN, WEBFAZE_SITE_NAME, WEBFAZE_ADMIN_EMAIL and WEBFAZE_ADMIN_PASSWORD (12+ characters). Don't set PORT or WEBFAZE_HOST: cPanel handles them.
  10. Restart the app, open https://yourdomain.com/admin and sign in.
  11. Delete WEBFAZE_ADMIN_PASSWORD from the app's variables.
  12. Activate your licence under Settings → Advanced → Licence.

Prefer the setup screens? Leave out the four WEBFAZE_* variables. After starting, open the app's log file, copy the link ending in /install?t=…, and open it on your domain within 30 minutes.

"Cannot find module" in the log usually means the Node.js version is too old. Change it in the app's settings and restart.
