1. Who we are

webfaze.com and the Webfaze software are provided by Webfaze (“we”, “us”). You can reach us through the contact page.

2. What Webfaze is

Webfaze is downloadable, self-hosted website builder software. After buying a plan you download it from your account and install and run it on a server or hosting account that you choose and control. We do not host your website, and hosting is not included in any plan.

3. Your account

You need an account to buy a plan, download Webfaze and take part in the community. Keep your password and two-step sign-in safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account.
Give accurate details, including a working email address.
You can download your data or delete your account at any time from Account, Security.

4. The licence

Grant. When you pay for a plan we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Webfaze on the number of live websites your plan allows, for as long as the licence is active. A website is one domain (www.example.com and example.com are the same website). One-time plans have no end date; yearly and monthly plans last for the period paid and renew until cancelled.
Test sites. Up to 3 test or staging installations (localhost, *.test, *.local, staging.* or dev.* addresses) per licence are allowed on top of your plan’s sites.
Websites are permanent. Once a licence is activated on a website, that website uses one of the licence’s seats for good. Removing, deactivating or reinstalling the site doesn’t free the seat. The licence can be activated again on that website any number of times, for example on a new server, but not on a different website once all its seats are used. For another website, buy another licence.
Separate purchases. Each plan is bought separately, with its own key. There are no upgrades between plans; to cover more websites, buy another licence.
Not allowed. Reselling, sublicensing, renting or sharing licence keys or the software; removing or bypassing the licence checks; using one seat for more websites than it covers; and redistributing Webfaze or a modified copy of it. You may build and sell websites made with Webfaze for your clients, as long as each live site is covered by a seat.
Ownership. We keep all rights in the Webfaze software. You keep all rights in your content: it stays on your own hosting and we have no access to it.
Third-party components. Webfaze includes open-source components under their own licences, listed in the notices file in the download.

5. Updates and extensions

Updates are available while your licence is active. Each release is signed and installed from the Console or by replacing the program file.
Licence checks. An installation contacts webfaze.com about once a month, and before installing an extension or an update, to confirm its licence. If a licence expires or is revoked, the Console locks and installed extensions stop running; the public site keeps running for 7 days and is then shown as temporarily unavailable. Your content is never deleted, and a valid key restores everything.
Other extensions in the directory are made by independent, third-party developers, who are responsible for them and for supporting them. We review and sign each version before it is offered, but we don’t guarantee extensions. Using the directory needs an active licence. Paid extensions are sold under the same checkout and the refund policy; developers agree to the developer terms.
Official extensions. The six official extensions by Webfaze are free with every licence and work while the licence is active.

6. Payment

Prices are shown on the pricing page in US dollars. Taxes may be added at checkout depending on where you are.
Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our online reseller and merchant of record, which handles the payment, sales tax and your receipt. Lemon Squeezy’s own terms apply to the payment. We never see your full card details.
Your licence key and download are delivered in your account as soon as the payment is confirmed.
Yearly and monthly plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Refunds follow the refund policy.

7. The community

Be respectful, stay on topic and don’t post other people’s personal data, licence keys, passwords, spam or illegal content. We may hide posts and suspend accounts that break these rules.

8. Ending

You can stop using Webfaze and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or revoke a licence that is used against these terms, for example a shared or resold key, after telling you why where we can. Sections about ownership, liability and the law continue after the licence ends.

9. Warranty and liability

Webfaze is provided “as is”. We work to keep it secure and working, but we don’t promise it will be free of errors or suit every purpose, and you are responsible for your hosting, your backups and your content. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and important changes are announced in the community. Continuing to use Webfaze after a change means you accept it.
