Yes. Every licence allows up to 3 test or staging sites on top of the live sites in your plan. They don't use a seat.

Which addresses count as test sites

  • localhost, 127.x.x.x and [::1]
  • anything ending in .test, .local or .localhost
  • anything starting with staging. or dev., such as staging.yourbusiness.com

Other addresses, such as test.yourbusiness.com or yourbusiness.com/staging, count as live sites.

How to set one up

  1. Install Webfaze on the test address as usual.
  2. Activate it with the same licence key under Settings → Advanced → Licence.
  3. In webfaze.com Account → Licences, it appears under Sites using this key, marked Staging · free.

Limits

  • A fourth test site is refused with This licence already has 3 test sites. Remove one you no longer use from Account → Licences first.
  • A test site still needs to reach webfaze.com, just like a live one.
  • Webfaze records the address you activate from. If you later move a test site to a real domain, open its Licence screen on the new address and enter the key again. From then on it counts as a live site.

Extension developers use test sites the same way: a test site in developer mode is free.
