Use Node.js 22.15 or newer. Node.js 24 works too.
What happens on older versions
- Below 22.5: Webfaze won't start. On cPanel this often shows as "Cannot find module" in the log.
- 22.5 to 22.12 with SQLite: the log shows
Cannot find module 'node:sqlite', because these versions hide SQLite behind a flag. - Below 22.15: the site can run, but extensions can't. The Extensions screen says so, and your site is unaffected. The official extensions (Commerce, Bookings and the others) need 22.15 as well.
How to change it
- Hostinger: in the Node.js app's settings, choose 22.15 or newer, then save and restart the app.
- cPanel: Setup Node.js App → your app → Node.js version → 22.15 or higher, then Restart.
- VPS (Debian or Ubuntu): install a current Node.js, for example from NodeSource (
curl -fsSL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_22.x | bash -thenapt install -y nodejs), and restart the service.
Check what you have
- On a server with SSH:
node --version. - On a hosting panel: set the startup file to
doctor.js, restart, and read the log. The first line shows the Node.js version with a tick or a cross. Then set the startup file back toapp.js.
Stuck on 22.5 to 22.12 for now? Either set NODE_OPTIONS to --experimental-sqlite, or use MySQL by setting the DB_* settings. Both are stopgaps: upgrade when you can, because extensions need 22.15.
