minWebfaze is the oldest Webfaze version your extension works with. Sites running an older Webfaze aren't offered that version of your extension.

Where to set it

  • In listing.json, when you publish with one zip: "minWebfaze": "1.0.0.3".
  • In the upload form under Versions: the Works with Webfaze from field.

If you leave it out, it defaults to the newest Webfaze release.

What to put

The oldest Webfaze you actually tested your extension on. In practice:

  • Most extensions should use the version they were built and tested on.
  • If your extension uses something added in a particular release (a new event or a new wf method), use at least that release. The developer guide and the release notes say which version introduced each new capability.
  • Don't set an older version than you tested, just to reach more sites. A site on an older Webfaze may lack something your code calls.

What site owners see

The extension's details in their Console say which Webfaze it works with, the same way webfaze.com does, for example "Webfaze 1.0 or newer".

When you raise it

Sites still on an older Webfaze keep the version they have installed and aren't offered your new one until they update Webfaze.

Not the same as your extension's version

Your manifest's version is your extension's own number, three parts like 1.2.0, and must go up with every upload. minWebfaze is about Webfaze itself.
