Your hosting needs a few settings so Webfaze knows where to keep your site and who you are. Each has a name in capitals, typed exactly as shown, and a value.

Where to type them

  • Hostinger: hPanel → Websites → your site → Node.js → Environment variables.
  • cPanel: Setup Node.js App → your app → Environment variables (Add Variable).

Save, then restart the app.

Your database (leave all five out to use SQLite)

  • DB_HOST: almost always localhost on Hostinger and cPanel.
  • DB_PORT: 3306 unless your host says otherwise.
  • DB_NAME and DB_USER: the full names, including the panel's prefix (u123456789_webfaze).
  • DB_PASSWORD: the database user's password.

Instead of these you can set one DATABASE_URL, like mysql://user:password@localhost:3306/dbname.

Your website

  • WEBFAZE_DOMAIN: your address with https://, for example https://yourbusiness.com.
  • WEBFAZE_SITE_NAME: the name visitors see.

Your first login

  • WEBFAZE_ADMIN_EMAIL: the email you'll sign in with.
  • WEBFAZE_ADMIN_PASSWORD: 12 characters or more. Delete it after you first sign in: it's only read on the first start.

Don't add these

  • PORT and WEBFAZE_HOST: the panel sets them. Adding them makes the site show a 503.
  • WEBFAZE_DATA_DIR: not needed on Hostinger or cPanel. Only set it to move the data folder somewhere else, as a full path; a wrong path stops the app starting. On Railway, Render, Coolify or Fly, set it to /data and attach a persistent volume there.

Ready-made template: webfaze.com Account → Downloads → Settings for your hosting → Download settings template, with your email already filled in.
