Webfaze sends email through your own mail server (SMTP). Until it's set up, nothing is sent: password reset links are written to the app's log instead.
Set it up
- In the Console, open Settings → Email.
- Fill in:
- Server: your mail provider's SMTP server, such as
smtp.yourprovider.com. - Port: usually
587. - Username and Password: the mailbox's login.
- Send from: the address emails come from, such as
hello@yourdomain.com. - Sender name: usually your business name.
- Send form submissions to: where form notifications go.
- Press Save email settings, then Send a test email.
What uses these settings
Password resets, form notifications, and the official extensions: Commerce order emails, Bookings confirmations and reminders, and Newsletter campaigns and confirmation emails.
If the test fails
- Check the server, port, username and password against your mail provider's instructions. Your hosting control panel usually shows these under the email account.
- "Send from" must be an address your mail server allows you to send from, normally the same mailbox you sign in with or one on the same domain.
- Some hosts block outgoing mail ports from apps. If every setting is right and it still fails, ask your host, or use an email sending service's SMTP details.
- Look at the app's log for the error the mail server gave.
Emails arrive in spam? Set up SPF and DKIM for your domain with your mail provider, and send from an address on your own domain.
The Newsletter has its own sender name and email under Newsletter → Settings. Left empty, they use these settings.
