The chat button is set up under Chat and social → Chat.

  1. Tick Show the chat button on the site.
  2. Under Channels, tick WhatsApp and enter your number in international format, with the country code, such as +1 555 123 4567.
  3. Optionally add a message that's filled in for the visitor. {page} in the message is replaced by the title of the page they're on.
  4. Press Save.

One channel shows as a single button. Tick more (Messenger, Telegram, Instagram, Viber, Signal, text message, call, email or a link to your contact page) and the button opens a small panel listing them.

Make it look right

  • Button text (leave empty for an icon only), Shape, Colour, and Text and icon colour.
  • Position: bottom right or bottom left. It swaps sides automatically on Arabic and Urdu sites.
  • Show on: computers and phones, or just one.
  • Show after (seconds): 0 shows it at once.
  • Panel: a Name shown, a Picture from Media, a Greeting and a Reply time.

Where and when it shows

  • Pages: every page, only the pages listed, or every page except those listed. End an address with * to include everything under it, such as /blog/*.
  • Opening hours: tick Only online during opening hours, enter lines like Mo-Fr 09:00-17:00, choose the Time zone, and decide whether to Show an away note or Hide the button outside those hours.

Privacy: the button is a plain link to WhatsApp. Nothing is loaded from WhatsApp or any other network until a visitor clicks.
